Track & Field Athletes Earn Top Spots at Nationals

Three Bengal student-athletes competed in the prestigious Adidas Nationals Track and Field Championship held at North Carolina A&T State University over June 17–19. Athletes from across the nation competed in four categories: Championship, National Elite, Freshman, and Middle School.
  • Dana Wilson, running in the Championship category of the 100m dash, took home the gold medal with a new school record time of 11.56. This time places her in the nation’s top 20, #2 nationally for ninth graders, 12th all-time for North Carolina girls, and the fastest girls 100m in the history of NC independent schools.
  • Endia Smith placed fourth in the National Elite category of Triple Jump with a leap of 11.55ms (37' 10.72"), which places her in the NC top 10 statewide and makes her the #1 NC freshman in this event. Endia also placed 8th in the freshman girls 200m dash with a personal record time of 25.45.
  • India Wilson earned a silver medal in the Middle School Division of the 100m hurdles with a  time of 15.92, making her #1 in NC middle school girls in this event.
