• Sloan Theatre

   

  Our beautiful, 600-seat capacity Sloan Theatre will make the perfect backdrop for your performance, concert, or conference. The stage is 40’ wide x 30’ deep proscenium, with an 8-foot deep pit cover. Our Technical team will help make your event come to life, and your event will shine with our state-of-the-art lighting and audio equipment. Rental rates include one hour before and one hour after event minimum (i.e. a 2-hour event requires a 4-hour rental), and a reduced rental rate is available for events hosted by non-profit organizations. Food and beverage are not permitted in the Sloan Theatre.

• Bell Family Studio

   

  The Bell Family Studio Theatre offers an open performance or meeting space, with a maximum capacity of 250 non-fixed seating. The simplicity of the space creates a flexible stage that encourages audience interaction. Our Technical team will help make your event come to life, and your event will shine with our state-of-the-art lighting and audio equipment. Rental rates include one hour before and one hour after event minimum (i.e. a 2-hour event requires a 4-hour rental), and a reduced rental rate is available for events hosted by non-profit organizations.  Food and beverage are not permitted in the studio theatre.

• Kaplan Lobby

  
  

  Our elegant Kaplan Lobby - which serves as the main entryway to the Davison Center for the Arts - is the ideal space for workshops and socials up to 100 guests (capacity is determined by seating arrangement). This space offers a two-story glass wall with ample natural light, direct access to the Sloan Theatre and Bell Family Studio Theatre, and has adjacent space for catering preparation.

• Additional Costs

  
  

  All Greensboro Day School facility and venue rentals include a fee for security and cleaning, and a capital replacement fee is applied to any event using GDS furniture or equipment to cover the cost of maintaining and repairing those items. To ensure the safety and security of our school, a Greensboro Police Officer must be present during all events with more than 50 guests. Events requiring extensive setup will be charged an additional fee (as determined by our facility directors).

   

  Davison Center for the Arts rentals requiring production assistance such as a Technical Director and/or Stage Manager will include additional labor charges depending on the number of technicians required for each event, rehearsal, and/or set-up time. The Center for the Arts management will determine the appropriate labor support needed per event. 

   

  The following are available at no extra cost for the Sloan Theatre, provided that the request is made in writing no later than 10 days prior to the event (labor not included):

  All lighting, audio, and other production equipment is coordinated by special arrangement with the Center for the Arts' Technical Director and/or Production Manager.
