The 1970 Society

The 1970 Society was born out of necessity in 2020 to confront a crisis head-on and to celebrate our rich history and traditions at Greensboro Day School. What emerged was a new leadership giving society designed to provide certainty in uncertain times. We know that Greensboro Day School will surely face challenges in the future, whether that is continuing to manage the ongoing health crisis or overcoming obstacles we have yet to imagine. Your involvement in The 1970 Society will help us prepare for and meet those challenges as they arise.

The 1970 Society builds on the foundation established by our founders and early stakeholders. We honor both their tenure and yours by keeping the spirit of GDS alive and well. Unrestricted support is a powerful expression of belief and confidence in GDS and remains a critical part of our current and future success.

In addition, as the premier leadership donors of the school, The 1970 Society holds special events with the Head of School, allows you to connect with leaders in our community, and celebrates our successes together.
