Wayne Robinson '76

Virginia Tech:
Wayne Robinson was a central figure in Tech’s early success in the Metro Conference. He was Tech’s leading rebounder in each of his three years as a starter and is ranked fourth among Tech’s career rebound leaders and is 27th in career scoring at Tech. Robinson was a first round selection of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980 NBA Draft and played for both the Lakers and the Detroit Pistons before playing seven seasons professionally in Europe. He was inducted into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.

Robinson spearheads the firm’s diversity division and develops processes related to performance planning assessments, career development, and recruiting. As an executive with more than 15 years’ experience training soon-to-be and experienced hires in career planning and placement, he is known as a team-builder skilled at developing and leading executive recruiting teams.
Robinson has been the architect of numerous strategic partnerships designed to expand and diversify corporate talent pools while creating mutual benefits for corporations and universities.
In addition, he is the founder and serves as the senior pastor of New Millennium Christian Center, also located in Greensboro, where he draws on more than 25 years of Christian teaching and pastoral experience in his ministry.
A member of the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame and an ACC Basketball Legend, Robinson credits his college and professional basketball careers with affording him opportunities to travel and make substantial impacts throughout many professional, cultural, and Christian settings. Robinson earned his bachelor’s degree in finance in 1980 and, along with his wife, Renee, has two children, Blake and Holland.
