• Q: What items make up Special Occasion Attire?

  On days designated for Special Occasion Attire, students will be required to wear the following:

  1. Khaki pants, a khaki skort, or a khaki jumper
  2. Two or three of the following:
     • a white long-sleeve button-down shirt. Shirts must be tucked in.
     • green sweater
     • bow tie, regular tie, or scarf
  3. Tennis shoes or hard sole shoes
  4. A belt (if wearing pants)

• Q: Are there specific outfits for boys and girls?

  No, Special Occasion Attire is gender neutral. Students may wear any outfit they like as long as it consists of the items outlined above.

• Q: When will students wear Special Occasion Attire?

  Students will wear Special Occasion Attire at the following events:

  • Opening of School Ceremony
  • Thanksgiving Program
  • Honor Code Ceremony
  • Holiday Program
  • Admission Open Houses
  • Fourth Grade Celebration
  • All School Closing
  • Other special events to be determined

• Q: Is Special Occasion Attire a first step toward school uniforms?

  No. There is no plan to implement uniforms at Greensboro Day School.

• Q: Does Special Occasion Attire replace Game Day Dress?

  No. The athletic program will still require student-athletes to wear Game Day Dress on game days. Those guidelines are outlined in the Family Handbook.

• Q: What if I need to return or exchange a Special Occasion Attire item at the Bengal Bookstore?

  Full price items purchased may be returned up to 14 days from the date of purchase. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. The 14 days will start with the day you have the items in hand.

• Q: What if I need to return or exchange a Special Occasion Attire item I purchased at Polliwogs?

  We will follow Polliwogs’ refund and return policy for all Special Occasion Attire items purchased from Polliwogs.
