G.O.L.D. = ‘Graduates of the Last Decade’
Young Alumni Giving Society

In an effort to increase alumni participation in giving to the annual fund, the Greensboro Day School Alumni Association has established the G.O.L.D. Society.  G.O.L.D. stands for ‘Graduates of the Last Decade,’ meaning our youngest alumni (in 2021, this includes the classes of 2012-2021). While giving young alumni special recognition for their gifts, we hope that the G.O.L.D. Society will educate our young alumni so that they become lifelong supporters of the school.

Membership in the G.O.L.D. Society recognizes alumni who graduated in the last 10 years who have made a gift of any amount to the GDS Annual Fund.  It will culminate with the class who celebrates their 10 year reunion and special recognition will be given to alumni who have been members of the G.O.L.D Society all 10 years since graduation.  As a member of the G.O.L.D. Society, young alumni will become part of a vital support system for GDS’s pursuit of excellence. Through their vision and generosity, young alumni will be an inspiration to others.

Benefits may include recognition in school publications, a dedicated staff liaison, a monthly e-newsletter, a G.O.L.D. Society car decal, and invitations to events.

Matching Gifts are counted toward your membership in the G.O.L.D Society.

All gifts made prior to March 31st will be include in our annual Class Giving Competition.  What better way to show that your class is the best!

To join the G.O.L.D. Society, visit our online giving page. For more information, please contact Director of Alumni Programs, Michael Sumner ’04.

The Impact of Giving to the Annual Fund:
  • On Students — You enhance GDS’s unique and highly personal learning environment, which empowers our Bengals to exercise their academic, artistic and athletic talents.
  • On Campus — You support GDS’s inspiring physical environment and, more importantly, the people who bring it to life.
  • On Community — You bolster the partnerships and programs that advance GDS's impact within and beyond the physical structures.

Membership:
  • Any gift amount by graduates from the last 10 years equals membership into the G.O.L.D. Society
